These are not great literature by any means, but are a great way to pass the time with a few chuckles and meet some very interesting characters. Good for times and places you can't fully concentrate on just the book. January 3

The Cat Who Brought Down the House by Lillian Jackson Braun
See Review above :) January 10

Lost Child by Marianne White
A relatively good time travel book involving England and Scotland. Although it doesn't measure up to the standards set by Diana Gabaldon's books, :) it was good enough to keep my interest and to finish. It lacks research or at least the benefits of research and is somewhat predictable. Yet, I'd recommend it for anyone interested in historic England and Scotland and some fun family escapades. However, I have some kind of a OCD, and when I persue one hobby or creative outlet, I drop all the others. Over the past year, I've been trying to incorporate reading back into my life. It doesn't work all the time, but I'm much better about spending some time each day with a book. I've started carrying a book with me much of the time, so when I'm waiting to pick up my grandson at school, or in a theater before the movie starts, I can read a bit. When life is rough for me, as it has been the last several months, I choose light, non-challenging reading. Things like cozy mysteries, young adult books, etc., to keep my mind occupied. When life calms down and I can spend larger blocks of quiet time I tend to gravitate towards books with a bit more substance.

This blog, in it's third reincarnation is an attempt to keep track of books I've read, with some reviews, as well as list books that have caught my interest for one reason or another.

2005 Reading List

June to December 2005
Four Blind Mice by James Patterson
The Cat Who Played Brahms by Lilian Jackson Braun
Trace by Patricia Cornwell
Murder, With Peacocks by Donna Andrews
The Cat Who Played Post Office by Lilian Jackson Braun
The Big Bad Wolf by James Patterson
A Son Called Gabriel by Damian McNichol
Final Jeopardy by Linda Fairstein
London Bridges by James Patterson
Agatha Raisin and the Quiche of Death by M.C.
